At Andover we forsake Fall racing to focus on improving rowing skills including teaching Newbies to row. The vast majority of Andover rowers and
coxswains arrive with no experience so we have one term to convert them into the best racers in New England.
This term Coach Washburn is leading the boys' instruction assisted by Coach Michelle Darby '07 and Coach Becca Waldo '07. Coach Hurley is leading the girls' instruction assisted by Coach Kathleen Pryde, Coach Joe Bouscaren and Coach Batchelor who is part time because of commitments to college counseling.
Our coaching team combine many years of coaching experience with successful rower and coxing experience at college and international levels. The fall goal is to combine the serious tough work of rowing with a little fun. Hopefully by Parents' Weekend we will be looking like racing machines.
